Lifted Subarus are great in theory but terrible in practice.

This one is maybe a 1-1.5" lift. It’s subtle, maybe a hair higher than the Impreza Outback sport wagon but not much.

Looks like the same height as my outback. If they just used outback suspension should be killer.

Isn’t that what Outback XTs were for?

Well yes, but lifted WRX? Come on what’s not to like.

Dare I ask what the long term effects are?

Unless you go full-crazy and do subframe drop, the CVs will be at bad angles. You need to get real good at rebooting because aftermarket axles are a crapshoot. The factory camber adjustment is pretty good but won’t do you any good over a 1" or so. That means more camber bolts, camber offset bushings, or both. That creates two problems. Finding someone to do an alignment with aftermarket parts (usually means “race” alignment or just paying more) and with more adjustment creates more places for things to move if you have bad roads or are pretending to be a rally driver. Bigger tires are harder on CVs as well and will likely rub since the position of the wheel in the well has changed. If you lift over 2" the suspension loses basically all droop and the suspension dynamics really suffer on holes in the road. I broke several front endlinks as well because they should have been longer to compensate.

Sure looks cool though. That coolness just wore off eventually.

I don’t think an Outback suspension would go in. A Forester on the other hand...

Impreza outback suspension would bolt on... Not legacy outback...

Ohhh. You meant Impreza Outback. Yeah, that would work

I suppose any sort of portal axle is right out. :p
